Louise I. Grinnell, age 100, of Milford, beloved wife of the late William E. Grinnell, passed away on April 14, 2021 at CT Hospice in Branford.
She was born on September 4, 1920. She grew up in Stratford and graduated from Stratford High School. Mrs. Grinnell owned the popular Bill's Restaurant in Devon Center with her husband for over 20 years and was an assembler at Bic Pen, Inc. in Milford for 18 years before her retirement. She enjoyed her time with the ladies in the Happy Hookers Crochet Club, also attending the Ahrens Program at the Milford Senior Center and socializing with the Breakfast Club at Pop’s Restaurant. She loved being with her family hosting “Aunt Louise's Bash” every summer, birthday dinners with Donna, Caitlyn and Matthew Miller, “Nieces Night Out” with Marie, Margie, Barbara, Jeanann and Marma, trips to Delaware to see her sister Angeline and family and the family bus trips to Mohegan Sun.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Lisa Grinnell Ellsworth and her husband, Peter of Milford and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Iannone and his wife Jacinta, and her sisters, Angeline Krajnik, Mary Riccio and Rose Bova.
Family and friends may call on Monday, April 19th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 BRIDGEPORT AVENUE, MILFORD with a mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Ann Church (St. Raphael Parish). Interment to follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford.
