Michael Omel Lee, age 68, of Stratford, CT, died on October 15, 2021. The beloved partner for many years of Margaret B. Lloyd, Michael was born in Concord, NC on May 29, 1953, to the late Dr. Roy Lee and Phyoncia Henry Lee. Michael graduated from Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua, NY in 1971 and from the University of Washington in Seattle, WA with a Bachelor of Arts in 1977.
Michael was a larger-than-life personality, a trusted friend, a beloved neighbor, a welcoming presence in any room, an honored mentor to many, and someone who would help you through your best and your worst times. He dedicated his life’s work to helping those who struggled with addictions as well as mental health, serving as the clinical supervisor of Residential Services for Liberation Programs, Inc. for 24 years. He is fondly remembered by his coworkers, Cindy Ramdhanie and Maggie Young. Michael was a natural athlete and an avid New York Yankees fan who followed his team through thick and thin.
Survivors include his son, Michael Horvath-Lee (Jessica) of Riverside, CT, Michael’s mother and longtime friend of Michael Lee, Pamela Horvath, daughters; Tamikia Lloyd-Cobbs and Sevelena Joyner, siblings; Roy Lee III (Lindsay) and Andre Lee (Monika) both of Seattle, Monique Bahadur (Sekhar) of London, England, and Allyson Lee of Richmond, VA, grandchildren; Alana and Aiden Horvath and Nile Lloyd; god-daughter Maya Bonner; and nieces and nephews: Shawn McGee Jr., Erica Lee, Roy Lee IV, Jennifer Bahadur and Nina Bahadur.
In celebration of Michael Lee’s life, a Funeral Mass will be held for close family and friends on Saturday, October 23 at 10:30 AM at St. James Roman Catholic Church located at 2110 Main Street Stratford, CT 06615. Calling Hours will follow from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at THE GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford, CT.
Please note that due to COVID 19 protocols that whether fully vaccinated or not, masks are required for indoor events. Occupancy in the Church is limited to 125 persons at a time.
