Robert Moran

Robert S., (Bob) age 85 of Ocala, Florida, beloved husband of the late Virginia A. for 49 years passed away on December 30, 2022. (Cruising in the heavens now).  Mr. Moran was born in Bridgeport, CT on June 30, 1937, to the late Margaret Kish and was raised by his mother and loving stepfather Steven Kish. Mr. Moran was a longtime Milford resident prior to moving to Satellite Beach, FL in 1985. He was employed by Avco-Lycoming, Martin Marietta and Harris Corporation during his years as a Quality Engineer before retiring.

He is a former Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus, Tinto Council 47 in Milford, CT.

Mr. Moran’s love of cruising the seas showed in his over 300 cruises in his lifetime. In his high school years he was an avid swimmer and duckpin bowler – being a state champion in both sports. Mr. Moran is a veteran and served in the Navy.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Morrow and her long-time partner Rex Allred of Indian Trail, NC; a son, Robert T. Moran and his wife Johnna of Enterprise, FL; grandchildren Virginia Flesher and her husband Andrew of Wichita Falls, TX and Joshua Hudak and his wife Samantha of Saco, ME.

Mr. Moran was predeceased by his brother Daniel Moran and a sister, Katherine Pickett.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to E.W. & Lucille Cates House, 9505 SW 110th St. Ocala, FL 34481, who’s care for him was outstanding.

Friends and family may call on Friday March 17, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in THE GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford.

Burial will be private in Milford, CT next to his loving wife, Virginia.
