Russell W. Edwards of Milford, passed away at home surrounded in the love of his family on Tuesday December 12, 2023. He was the husband of 56 years to Gail (Bisonette) Edwards. Russell was born in Milford on February 5, 1947 to the late Irving and Margaret Edwards. He served his country proudly in the US Army, having served in Vietnam, and retiring from the reserves after many years of service. Russell was very involved in the community serving as President of Vietnam Veterans Chapter 251, proud member of the American Legion #196, former volunteer fireman, and mentored many young boys as a Boy Scout leader. Russell also enjoyed rooting for his favorite sports teams, the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. He enjoyed family time and loved his family dearly.
Russell will be sadly missed by his wife, Gail Edwards; children: Russell Edwards, Jr. and Cindy Edwards, both of Milford; Grandchildren Christopher Edwards, Joseph Radcliffe, Jessica Radcliffe and her fiancé Zack, ;Great Granddaughter Kathleen and Great Grandson Elias; step granddaughter Cynthia Radcliffe and her daughter Lilly. siblings: Coreen Edwards of Milford and Raymond Edwards and his wife Mary of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers George and Robert Edwards.
Visitation will be on Tuesday December 19, 2023 at the GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME from 4:00pm – 7:00pm. Prayers will be said at 6:30pm, concluding with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to the Michael J. Fox Foundation at www.michaeljfox.org
