Sandra "Sandy" M (Maher) Bruder

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sandra Marie Bruder, lovingly known as Sandy, who peacefully departed this world on March 13, 2024 at her residence in Milford, Connecticut.   Sandy was born on June 1, 1940 to late John Perry Maher and Lisolette Fox Bjalko and is the beloved wife of Bernhard (Bernie) Bruder.  

Sandy lived the early part of her life in Stratford, Connecticut, but with her marriage to Bernie in 1962 moved to her residence in Laurel Beach in Milford, where she lived for 62 years.  Sandy lived her life with a great love and dedication to her family, love of her friends and community, and a devotion to God and the Catholic faith.

Sandy is survived by her beloved husband Bernie and their two sons Christopher Bruder of Charleston, South Carolina and Michael Bruder (Leslie) of Columbus, Georgia, and her loving sister Carolyn Hull.  Sandy leaves a cherished legacy of her four grandchildren: David, Chase, Matthew and Mackenzie. She was predeceased by her sister Cynthia Allaire.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Monday March 18, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at THE GREGORY DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 19th at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Gabriel Church, Milford, CT.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Smilow Cancer Center in New Haven.  To share a memory, please visit, www.gregoryfdoylefuneralhome.com.
