Wayne H. Carson, age 93, of Milford, beloved husband of the late Lena (Alves) Carson entered eternal rest on August 7, 2022. Born on June 17, 1929, in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of the late Frederick Jason Carson and Mary Jane (Barrett) Carson. During WW II, he proudly served with the U.S. Navy. Later, he joined the U.S. Army serving in the 33rd Infantry, Heavy Mortar Division both during and after the Korean Conflict. After leaving military service, Mr. Carson worked as an expeditor in the Test & Fatigue Laboratory at Sikorsky Aircraft for 37 years. Upon his retirement, he continued working in the cafeteria at Jonathan Law High School for 17 ½ years until January 2022. Very much involved with the Milford Community, Mr. Carson was a member of the Connecticut American Legion Post number 34 for 46 years. For the past several years, Mr. Carson served as the Legion Post 34 Commander.
Mr. Carson is survived by his devoted sons, Richard Carson of Milford, David Carson and his wife Jeannie of Clinton, and his loving granddaughter, Katie Jean Carson of Moodus. In addition to his wife, he is predeceased by his two sisters, Mary Ann Carson, and Sybil Brown and two nieces Margaret Carson and Mary Jane (Carson) Rosa.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Mary Church (Precious Blood Parish) 70 Gulf Street, Milford. Committal to follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Monday, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 BRIDGEPORT AVENUE, MILFORD.
