William H. “Tic” Tickey, Jr. passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 25th, 2023 at his home in Milford. Bill was born on February 11, 1957 in Bridgeport and was the son of the late William and Adele Tickey.
Bill was an HVAC Technician in the maintenance department at Stamford Hospital.
He is survived by his long-time girlfriend, Debbie Simna, his beloved daughter, Sarah (Spear) Pepe and her husband, Rob and his four devoted granddaughters, Lorraine Spear, Eleanor, Amelia and Alexandria Pepe. He also leaves his devoted sisters, Marianne Baril (Dave), Melissa Tickey, Melanie Barker and Marguerite McClean (Keith), his nieces, Courtney Black (Rob), Ashley Barker Waisonoviz (Phil), Dr. Stefanie Baril and his nephew, John Moriarty and several great nieces and nephews.
Bill was known for his incredibly quick wit, his generosity, and his devotion to the people he loved. He was always ready to help friends and family whenever and wherever help was needed. Bill was a lifetime sports enthusiast playing on many team sports throughout his life, including baseball and basketball. He supported his favorite team The Green Bay Packers since he was a young boy and enjoyed watching the games with his best buddy, Dan Iwasczyszyn. There was no living with him for months after a Green Bay Super Bowl victory.
Affectionately known to his granddaughters as “Big Pops” and “Papa” he delighted in spending time with them and bragging about the funny things they said and all their accomplishments. Rarely a day went by when the family didn’t get a new video of the girls.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 4-7 p.m. at the GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 BRIDGEPORT AVENUE, MILFORD. Interment will be private.
