Wilma Sielert

Wilma Sielert, age 93, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Vern Sielert, entered peaceful rest on May 15, 2023.

She was born on April 4, 1930 in Hawthorne, CA and the daughter of the late Willis and Mera (Young) Schellhous. She will be remembered for having the best smile and contagious laugh. She loved her family immensely, attending every sporting event, concert and banquet. Wilma was an avid quilter and a crossword puzzle master. Along with her husband, Wilma volunteered at the Pequot Library for twenty years.

Wilma is survived by her devoted children, Steven Sielert of Milford, Richard Sielert of Lagunitas, CA, Wendy Valentine (Glenn) of Milford and William Sielert (Valerie) of Milford, and Vern Sielert (Vanessa) of Moscow, Idaho and known as “Gramma Willie” to her nine loving grandchildren, Robin Sielert (Beth), Shasta Phillips (Riah), Shanti MacEwan (Erica), Luke Valentine (Marie), Katie Vaheb (Neema), Christina Maclean (Ken), Kelly Sielert (Marty) Dylan Sielert, and Beck Sielert and four great grandchildren, Trent & Dani Sielert, Kamran & Aria Vaheb and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Her sister, Aeoma Sayre and her brothers, Arthur, Robert, Roy and Harry Schellhous predeceased her.

The family would like to thank Carriage Green of Milford caregivers and support staff for their awesome and loving care given to Wilma for the past six years.

Services will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted with the GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 BRIDGEPORT AVENUE, MILFORD.
