Calvin S. Croll, devoted husband and loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed peacefully at home on Friday, March 22nd. Born in Pennsylvania on September 21, 1931, Cal joined the U.S. Army in 1948, serving in Germany until 1952. He married the love of his life, June MacDonanld, on October 25, 1952, in Massachusetts. The young couple moved to Connecticut, eventually settling in Milford in 1964. Cal worked at General Electric and H. HoDaddario before joining Avco Lycoming as a security guard. He retired as an officer in 1986. A devout Catholic, Cal served as a Eucharistic minister before being ordained a deacon. His favorite service was baptizing babies, including some of his grandchildren. Cal was a talented builder and handyman, donating time and labor to St. Gabriel’s Church and School, as well as family and friends. Since building his front porch, he enjoyed sitting on his recliner, talking to neighbors, and watching birds.

He leaves his beloved wife of 71 years, his children Rhonda and Walter Dembiczak, June Sturtevant, Diane Croll and Keith Murphy, Calvin F. and Rita Croll, Daniel and Sherry Croll, 12 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. There will be a wake on Tuesday, March 26 at The GREGORY F.
