I just recently learned of Mary Ann's death. She was a good friend during my sabbatical at Yale during 2013. I offered mass for her and she continues to be an inspiration.

I am so deeply sorry for the loss of Mary. My heartfelt condolences. May you look to God for comfort and strength during this difficult time. Revelation 21:4 tells us what he will soon do: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

Happy memories of your beautiful mom from days at St. Ann School, where she fought to keep a school a float..fought bravely this disease of cancer and loved her children and life itself with ferocity! She has touched the world with that love and it will live in your smiles always. God Bless you and your extended family always. Peace

Mary Ann, I never got to thank you for being so upbeat and welcoming back in my Milford Living internship days (you shared the office with them). Your positive attitude was contagious and I was also there when you got the Mayor to grant Get Your Pink on Day! Thank you for sharing your story with me. My condolences to the family and friends of such a wonderful person. Whenever I wear my hot pink blazer I will think of you! xo Gina

Mary Ann is so amazingly special. Beautiful inside and out. Her short life has initiated an impact that most of us can only hope for. As one of her physicians, I feel so very blessed to have known this most very exceptional lady. I will miss you, Mary Ann, and we will honor your life with extra effort and an attempt to match your inspiration and class. We love you. Barbara Ward, Erin and Mary Andrews.

I often wondered: "How can she be so optimisstic and uplifting in the face of her struggle?"
I read her book and found it compelling in its message and presentation. But I finally came to really understand after a chance meeting with Mary Ann on a Metro North train into NYC several years ago.
We had only met casually before, through Suzanne. She was obviously beautiful and charming, but so much more. That memorable 90 minutes showed me a uniquely gifted, humble, and dedicated woman whose work would live on through the people she touched and future generations.
My deepest condolences to her children and her family. I hope you take comfort in the fact that Mary Ann made a positive change in the lives of everyone she touched...and those who will benefit from her courage and commitment in the future..

I met your mom this past summer, giving a talk to us NYC school nurses. She was vibrant and gorgeous. I was lucky to have a brief few minutes with her before she left. I can only say, I am so glad to have met her. A wonderful woman that I wish I knew. Because she and I would have become fast friends. I am so sorry to learn of her passing.

My deepest sympathy goes out to your family. I have been blessed to know Mary Ann as far back as elementary school. She was always known as a warm, intelligent compassionate individual. Her smile lights up a room and a beautiful glow radiates from her when she speaks. She was an angel here on earth who ministered to the needs of others. It has been such an honor know her and be her friend.

Mary Ann left a mark in the hearts of ALL Lauralton girls - she made everyone feel so very special & she always showed genuine compassion and appreciation for all that the students did for her beloved GIT Foundation. I will never ever forget the day she walked into my office a long time ago and shared her story and vision of the "Daisy Wheels" - we laughed, we cried and we hugged - and, boy could she HUG! I speak for SO many when I say, Mary Ann, thank you, thank God for you - you are one spectacular gal who had this remarkable vision and look where it is now! Yes indeed.....Hope Lives, Hope Lives, Hope Lives. We celebrate your amazing life.
